I'd really like to retire my one Dapper machine.
There's one open bug report (in my head, not on SF) against hostmot2: steppers have been reported to overshoot in a certain situation. Maybe i should open it up to input from the list... The report is from a guy on some German-language forum, translated and forwarded to me by Alex Joni. I have tried to reproduce the issue and i can't see it on my machine. Here's my stepgen overshooting test: <http://highlab.com/~seb/emc2/stepgen/>. After i ran this test, it was reported that the overshooting only ever happened when the user did keyboard jogs with feed override above 55%. I have not tested this yet, i hope to do it tonight. ISTR a problem with key-up events not registering when the users think they should, and that keyboard jogs are discouraged for that reason. It *sounds* like that's *not* what's happening here, because the user reports a tiny overshoot followed by correction back to the commanded position. He's working on producing a halscope capture. -- Sebastian Kuzminsky We need numbers, not adjectives. -- David MacKay <http://www.withouthotair.com/> ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This SF.net email is sponsored by: High Quality Requirements in a Collaborative Environment.
