I have a USB device I want to use as a pendant which has an LCD display. I'm OK with writing the USB code to program it, I'm just unsure how I can integrate it with emc to provide useful outputs.
I'm building yet another "joystick" type hal component. It works at a lower level allowing access to all HID items - it should work with the ShuttlePro. Initially I was thinking my hal component would have a pin that was a string input, but hal doesn't support that. Is there another standard way to communicate strings? I'm not sure if I need to expose that interface to other hal components. My component will live in user space. Maybe I just need to be to talk to axis.
