I did an overall tuning tonight, and glad I did, because I must have
done a "save
settings" some time ago when I didn't mean to, and the tuning wasn't
very good.
The FF2 appears to work much like before, and definitely helps. I don't
need much
at all with my velocity servo amps, as they handle most of the job
themselves.

One real oddity I found was that the PID_MAX_VEL parameters were all set for
9.6, which seemed an odd number. MAX_VEL is 1.2 for 72 IPM. So, I would
think that PID_MAX_VEL should have been just a little higher. But, I
think maybe
this is incuding a scale factor for the 10 V output of the DACs. I ran
out of headroom
on the X axis at the very max speeds of over 70 IPM, so I bumped PID_MAX_VEL
ip to 12.0 and everything worked fine. But, I will have to look at the
code to see
what is going on with that parameter.

One other oddity is that PID_MAX_VEL is displayed in the calibration menu
for all tabs BUT axis 0! I think that might actually be a bug, if
anyone else wants
to try it there. I couldn't find any omission of that signal only on
axis 0.
