This bug was reported in 2009 sometime
( look in mail list under :hostmot2 stepping folowing error oddity)
and again two more times.
The first time removing the base thread seemed to work - thats when I
removed base thread from PNCconf.
Later it was a problem again I reported it and never did get a good fix.
The last time Peter suggested setting max vel and max accel
up to that point I set them to 0 as per recommendations.
I tried that and has not been a problem since.
others have reported similar problems (on forum)
I use a 5i20.
The sample hostmot2 stepper config would have the problem.
I'm imagine whatever the bug is was actually the problem right from the
beginning
even if step timing and base thread would affect it.

Actually I wouldn't advise this. In pncconf I abandoned that as it
caused following errors particularly in one direction.
Peter advised setting limits for max vel and max accel and the problem
went away.
