If it makes it any easier, freeCAD *should* work with OpenCascade Community
Edition - https://github.com/tpaviot/oce .  OCE uses CMake, and is generally
easier to build.

If it doesn't work with OCE, let me, Jurgen, or oce-dev at googlegroups
know. I wrote the patch some months ago, but I don't know whether it has
been tested with newer versions of OCE. I haven't been tracking OCE closely
lately, as I've been working with (shameless plug alert!) NIST's Step Class
Library.
