Lars,

Do you have any statistics on latency and jitter for your machines 
running preempt-rt in a machine tool context?  That and some info on the 
hardware would be good info for reference.  Last I heard on comparable 
systems 20us latency was easily doable and maybe down to 5us on some 
fast machines...
