That would be awesome, but LinuxCNC currently works in RTAI, but there is no RTAI for ARM, so different real-time environment should be used, so You are looking not only at porting LinuxCNC to ARM, but also at porting LinuxCNC to other real-time environment. I do not know, if You have seen, but recently there were discussions and exchange of patches for LinuxCNC on rt-preempt. Searching for archives will be Your friend, if You have not seen those threads yet. With regards to speed, I do not think that simulation is gives trustful results about speed. But that is just my own impression.
