Primarily to advise that I tried the non-zero entry in the touch off entry
box on my milling machine, also running the latest 2.6.0 beta, with exactly
the same results.

Enter the value, and hit return or click apply, the new value is displayed
in the axis dro readout for perhaps 1/2 second, then the axis screen goes
away, followed over the next long second by any other hal windows opened
also going away, exactly as if the quit in the pulldown, or the quit box on
the axis border has been clicked on. Even with 0x7FFFFFFF in the debug,
there aren't any errors recorded, in either of the .txt files, nor in the
trace showing in the terminal linuxcnc was started from it all looks
exactly like a quit cleanup. So does dmesg, it looks plumb normal.

If I "linuxcnc -l" again, the offset itself has been applied, and one can
reload and re-exec the code with the offset in effect, after homing all
axis's of course.

Weird.

Thanks all.

Cheers, Gene
