I do it all the time Jeremy. On a pair of D525MW intel boards.  If I slow 
the base_thread to 26 u-secs, currently running at 23, no overruns are 
reported.  At 23 u-secs, it can take hours to get the first one.  I 
typically have a copy of konversation, a copy of firefox and several bash 
shells running, and I have carried on a conversation with konversation 
while carving parts.  isolcpus=1 in effect, and that cpu multiplier in the 
bios turned off.  I think its called hyperthreading.
