I have been using Tap Magic Aluminum. The stuff is amazing when
tapping aluminum. I have a power tapper which looks like a little
drill press except that the spindle reverses when pressure is released
from the lever.
The spindle can reverse very quickly. The machine spindle runs at
motor speed - about 1800 rpm and I tap 1/8" thick alum plate with 6-32
hand taps.

I was using WD-40 for the tapping fluid and that works poorly. The Tap
Magic Aluminum is like night and day compared with WD40 or any other oil
I tried.
