I think that's my point, actually. It's commonly accepted among the 
folks who study such things that it takes roughly 6 to 10 years to 
become truly expert in something, by which time even the most byzantine 
organization makes sense. I'm just suggesting we could make it less 
byzantine to those who are machine users and integrators rather than 
Unix/Linux gurus.

The recent exchanges triggered an "old business" memory. Since I'm not 
feeling motivated enough to do something about it (I've already got a 
verrry long to-do list) I'll say no more.
