I am using X tunneled through ssh...not the greatest video performance,
but it works OK for testing.

I may see if it's possible to get an LCD or video display working, but
don't hold your breath.  Most of the pins used for the LCD display are
shared with the PRU, so you won't be able to have a fancy LCD display
while the PRU is doing software stepgen, and it may not be possible to
have *ANY* LCD display (to-be-determined...this isn't real high on my
ToDo list yet).
