Something which has come up twice recently in discussions I have been having is the integration of an input device with HAL _and_ text entry.
For example the Mesa 7i73 supports a matrix keyboard. The key-presses appear in HAL as bit signals. CNC machines frequently have a multi-function keypad for jogging, axis selection _and_ G-code entry. I don't see any way to support the G-code entry into MDI using a 7i73 or an Arduino interface. Am I missing something, or is this actually properly difficult?
