I never got out of the starting gate because I couldn't answer the musical question, how much information is enough? I wish I could agree with Andy that "[t]ypically, the problem is clearly stated in the text dump..." but in my playing around with LinuxCNC I seem to create atypical situations (take the "package require Linuxcnc" error that stumped me for a bit last night), which makes a more comprehensive reporting scheme an attractive proposition.
