Is that a real danger, or is it just perception? 

were there cases were there in the past which suggest this is a problem, and 
need fixing by such measures, or might there be a better way? and what exactly 
would the nature of the problem be (leaving aside lack of time to pursue new 
consulting opportunities ;-)

you can suffocate projects outright with a license minefield, too - in 
particular if the project has low visibility to start with
