You can find baseline minimalist kernel configs in the base/arch/x86/configs directory of the following git repo: https://github.com/ShabbyX/RTAI The configs provided are meant to be modified to specific hardware and will not boot on ANY system out of the box UNLESS the config is modified via make menuconfig Please refer to the README.INSTALL file for build instructions.
