The kernel config started out with the one from here http://code.google.com/p/neo-technical/wiki/emc2ubuntu which I have been using as a base for a few years I just set the number of cpus, processor type etc and then disabled all the APM, ACPI, SFI, Runtime PM, CPU scaling etc plus all the virtualisation (the latter simply because I have no use for it) Magma and RTAI just require maths support, C99 support, number of cpus and thats about it The RTAI patch is not quite the same as the magma one, but I used the magma patched kernel with both magma and RTAI quite happily. I am running it routinely on Debian now and it has not faltered. You just have to switch the computer off manually. regards ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Get 100% visibility into Java/.NET code with AppDynamics Lite!
