Hi.

There are available cheap stepper motors with encoders, for example
86HS80-EC-1000.
And there are also a cheap cards Pluto-P.
Pluto-P has two modes, first PWM and encoders and second stepgen ie
STEP/DIR
There are two firmwares, one for servos, one for the stepper motors.
It is not possible to use encoders simultaneously with the stepper motors.
There are stepper drivers with a closed loop, but they are expensive and
only work on one axis.
It would be better to move the loop to LinuxCNC, then, when one axis
stops or slows down , the others axis can operated synchronously, slows
and waits for the slow axis will move.

And now the question:

For the Pluto-P are available sources of firmware and modules for LinuxCNC.
In directory src/hal/drivers.
Could someone find the relevant parts and write firmware and module for
the Pluto-P, supporting both encoders and stepgen?
In my opinion, in stepgen and PWM are the same number of pins, so may
be, it just should be replaced code of PWM by the code of stepgen, in
servo program.
But I don't know this device and its programing language.

Regards.
