yes, thats how I read Chris's comment - summarize some features in a 
metapackage which specialize it for some function; which would pull in a set of 
extensions for that purpose.

just a few commits, not that wild. Lets see how it works out.. I still need to 
think through Python module handling and paths so it dont go haywire.
