The first smart-serial boards (the 8i20 and 7i64) didn't have the self-configuation scheme, so I named the pins to match the (widely ignored) canonical pin naming convention doc. http://www.linuxcnc.org/docs/html/hal/canonical-devices.html Mesa then brought out the second wave of smart-serial devices that declare their pin types and layout, and give the pins names. In master I created psuedo-roms for the 8i20 and 7i64, and they then work through the same interface as the later boards. (It is perhaps a pity that Mesa didn't try to keep the pin names consistent with LinuxCNC, but they have other customers). Also I see the analog pin is called analog0 > analogin0 would be consistent with other sserial boards (and more clear) > Is that doable > It is a very small change to lines 151 and 152 in src/hal/drivers/mesa-hostmot2/sserial.h But I am not 100% sure that "analogin" is used across all Mesa cards. -- atp If you can't fix it, you don't own it. http://www.ifixit.com/Manifesto ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Rapidly troubleshoot problems before they affect your business.
