Hi, I have a via C3 board I want to setup for linuxcnc. I installed linuxcnc from the 10.04 iso, and it complains on boot that there is no apic. Enabling it does nothing. I found later that apic support on the via C3 is different from AMD and intel. I also gathered from some googling there might be some support now, but it requires a custom kernel. So I want to rebuild everything from source.
Is there a guide for building kernel, rtai, linuxcnc from source for 10.04 ? I only found this page http://wiki.linuxcnc.org/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?EMC_With_Custom_Kernel referring to 8.04. I imagine most applies but I wonder about this line: sudo apt-get build-dep linux-image-2.6.24-23-generic obviously for 10.04 a different version is needed but I am not sure which as this line and the linux source mentioned above are not the exact same rev. If anybody could point me to the right procedure to follow to build everything, that would be very appreciated, thanks Bruno ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Managing the Performance of Cloud-Based Applications Take advantage of what the Cloud has to offer - Avoid Common Pitfalls.
