I did an experiment: split out the linuxcnc/doc directory as a repo, and push it to github so one can view and edit the docs online; just to get a feel how well that works
you can view pages by clicking a doc file with .asciidoc extension (.txt had to be changed to .asciidoc) for instance, this page: https://github.com/mhaberler/linuxcnc-docs/blob/unified-build-candidate-3/src/common/User_Concepts.asciidoc if you want to try editing pages, just clone that repo on github: https://github.com/mhaberler/linuxcnc-docs this is far from perfect, e.g. links dont work properly, no index page etc, but that dont look to hard to do. I think that already is a huge improvement over the current docs editing and contribution process; also splitting out the docs repo separates a huge step out of package builds. Opinions? - Michael the script for spinning out the docs repo is here: https://github.com/mhaberler/linuxcnc-docs/blob/unified-build-candidate-3/split-off-linuxcnc-docs ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Flow-based real-time traffic analytics software.
