I did an experiment: split out the linuxcnc/doc directory as a repo, and push 
it to github so one can view and edit the docs online; just to get a feel how 
well that works


you can view pages by clicking a doc file with .asciidoc extension (.txt had to 
be changed to .asciidoc)

for instance, this page: 
https://github.com/mhaberler/linuxcnc-docs/blob/unified-build-candidate-3/src/common/User_Concepts.asciidoc

if you want to try editing pages, just clone that repo on github: 
https://github.com/mhaberler/linuxcnc-docs


this is far from perfect, e.g. links dont work properly, no index page etc, but 
that dont look to hard to do.

I think that already is a huge improvement over the current docs editing and 
contribution process; also splitting out the docs repo separates a huge step 
out of package builds.
