It could be to fast for me to see. I tried using the pointer based 
variable that are commented-out but then it does not toggle at all when 
I look at it in Halrun.

Is it best to have all the variable that I want to use in the structure 
but just not export them to Hal or is there another way?
Guidance is most welcomed here :)

For the pulses that must be stretched a bit I want to look at a count 
down counter for adding some programmable delay without delaying the 
code itself. every time the loop executes I will decrease the count and 
then check before action is taken. Will this be acceptable procedure to 
follow?
