I am thinking about using standard IO modules with RS485 Profibus communication for end switches, brakes and other not very time critical tasks. They are standardized and sometimes available used for a good price.
Is there anything useful available or do I have to write my own? I have done a basic 7i80 implementation on an STM32 micro controller but are a little bit reluctant to share since I work as a software developer and do not want to get into problem.
