Hallo Seb,

I did not have any time to look at the patch, maybe the weekend will
bring some light into my business :-(

I do like Andys patch more, because the database could easily be adapted
to modern needs.

IMHO a tool table should contain:
- Tool Number
- Pocket Number
- Diameter
- Length
- Offsets for all axis
- Wear offsets for all axis (could be a part of an internal used offset
column not shown to the user, as sum of normal offset and wear offset)
- Tool cutting edge form (not only for lathe)
- Orientation of the tool
- Tool used time
- tool limit time
- coolant / mist / air = YES / NO
- Description
- Identcode (barcode or RFID Chip etc.)
- link to an image (so at change it will be displayed)

optional, as it is material dependent:
- Cutting speed
- number of teeth
- feed per teeth
- possible macro handling for special tools, i.e. very long, so take out
of the changer a special way or must be placed in the changer in special
orientation)

Most of it, I can implement in python, but I doubt that that is the
future or even a final solution.
I think that amount of change should go in 2.8 and the fast patch in 2.7.

I am open to other minds, and willing to help.

Norbert
