I don't mind if this patch goes in as-is, but I don't think it's ideal. It should work with vismach to use the motor positions. If the motor positions end up different after repeated homing procedures, the homing procedure is incorrect.
It would be ideal to determine what the bug in the homing procedure is, and fix it instead.
