Ok, another try.
I think, a call with /usr/sbin/service rather then /usr/sbin/invoke-rc.d would
be the more common way.
Because the manpage of service says:
"
NAME
service - run a System V init script
...
DESCRIPTION
service runs a System V init script or upstart job in as predictable
an environment as
possible, removing most environment variables and with the current
working directory set
to /.
"
.
And it works for systemd too.
If nothing else, on my debian sid.
But maybe it's a blasphemous interjection again.
