Greetings all; I am making some progress, and I'm hopeing the ferrite stuff will help.
Progress enough that I want to complain about the dro stuff overlaid on the backplot screen. Nothing I can exert in the view menu will bring up a velocity readout, nor turn off a boatload of info that is more visual noise than helpfull to me while I am trying to bring it to life. Its an extremely busy screen, covering and distracting the backplot. The X86 version can be configured to show what I want, but not on the pi version. Can this be addressed in due time? I did get it to cut a lathe pawn (in air, spindle vfd wasn't powered up) last evening, I had a dial sitting on the saddle watching X motion, and put it in the range where it was at zero on the outer end when it had run to completion and parked itself. Then I ran it again, and at the end of the 2nd run, it was parked 0.041" inward from where it was parked the first time. This difference does not show in the dro display. Both motor cable shields are grounded as they go by the common ground bolt, and a separate ground strap, a 5/16" wide flat braid is attached about 1" away from the drivers - terminal, and to this bolt. About 7" longer than the similar braid lash-up of the Z drive. And I can hear more "roughness" in the x drive than in the Z drive. So its getting more noise from x than z.
