A couple similar problems created at that version "3116" you mentioned were reported and fixed https://github.com/LinuxCNC/linuxcnc/issues/269 https://github.com/LinuxCNC/linuxcnc/issues/271 I'm sad, but it sounds like there's yet another problem lurking there.
However, I didn't reproduce your problem here. Based on what you described, here are the steps I followed: * start the sample configuration configs/sim/axis/axis.ini * click the "reload" icon in the toolbar to reload the splash part program I tested with v2.8.0-pre1-3128-gafe82611f, which is after version 3116 that you said you identified as leading to the problem; and at v2.8.0-pre1-3133-g6a3b4a226 which you also mentioned. Can you let me know the specific steps you follow to reproduce the problem? Please reproduce it with configs/sim/axis/axis.ini if you can, or let us know if it requires a specific configuration. It could potentially also depend on the loaded part program.
