Anyway, it has behaved itself today as I made 2 more finished hat
assemblies. But I've learned a lesson about the side driving screw, put
it in last, its impossible to drill past it without sucking the drill
off center 10-30 thou.

And I've got to make a support for the open end of the r8 I have chucked
in the rotary table, drilling pressure is sufficient to knock the
workpiece out of alignment. But I've rigged a prop under it that helps,
so the job is generally getting done. Got 11 of them standing on the
shelf so far.

Some of the ER20 collet's, I have quite a pile of them now, are split to
8 slots, and some to 6. The 8 slot can be used to grab the butt of a
tap, locking tightly enough to work. Add a battery powered impact tool
with a 1/4" hex socket, an adapter to 1/4" square drive sockets with an
8 pt 5/15 socket, and a few hammers of its impact drive puts a lot
better grip of a TTS style tool holder. Probably hell on the plastic
gears in the g0704's head. Might have to locate some metal gear
replacements eventually, but its sure working ok right now.

And thats the days news from the Weston WV gossip fence. I gotta go to
the store, I fed my lady the last of the high pulp OJ this morning.
