Whilst I see your point, it is likely to be complicated to work out what input to RTAI from a LinuxCNC that thought there was a different realtime system in action caused the problem. And wherever the problem is it seems to be in a version of RTAI that RTAI do not support and that LinuxCNC barely understand. This was a strange result from a badly configured build from source, so not a typical User experience.
