The rest of this down to dpkg-checkbuilddeps worked, and
dpkg-checkbuilddeps returned null.

So I am ready to attempt a build... But I need to get a few gigs of swap
running else it will oom and die while building the rs-274-d
interpreter. On x86 stuff, swapon finds and activates all defined swap
on all attached drives, but does not on arm's.
The blkid output is
/dev/sda2: UUID="464d1832-531f-47fc-8824-95888252f5db" TYPE="swap"
PARTUUID="000ba889-02"

Pain in the butt, had to add the whole UUID to fstab and then use
swapon -a but now I've 10gigs of swap, and debbuild has been running for
about 30 minutes with no major complaints. We'll see when it gets to the
interpreter if its writing checks its ass can't cover. The compiler
complains, but keeps on going so far. This code is full of stuff
redefined warnings. Cleaning it up would be nice, but for me, more than
a lifetime job. LOL. One thing is bothering me though, I've seen no
attempts to build rpspi.ko go by, and that must surely mean it has used
an ethernet card for its interface. Since the rpi's only have one port,
that obviously places a very high bandwidth, making an external network
connection only useable when linuxcnc is not running. That will cramp
my work style for sure. I wonder if an ethernet dongle plugged into a
usb3 port might work? In any event such a development, is an expensive
development, running the cost up around $200. That will make the rpi4 a
LOT less appetizing since I've already around $200 in a 7i90 & a triplet
of 7i42TA's.

And I think I just wasted 2 hours, building it as root. Stupid old man. I
forgot I was sudo -i because of all the apt stuff up front. And its all
done, without building rpspi.ko, so to me its worthless. The src code
is in the git pull, why wasn't it built?

Long weekend to piddle with it though.

Cheers, Gene Heskett
