Well either someone didn't talk about installing glib dev packages in the wiki 
or the instructions weren't followed closely enough. Either way, you need to 
install the glib dev packages. There's at least a couple hundred packages in 
debian for glib, all named very similarly. This is why I hate debian. 
glib-2.0-dev glib+-2.0-dev glib-dev glib-gtk+-2.0-dev glib-perl-dev 
glib-python-dev glib-python2.7-dev glib-python2-dev glib-python3-dev 
glib-python-3.7-dev glib++-dev glib++mm-dev libqt4-glib-dev libqt5-glib-dev 
qt-glib-dev etc etc.. I forget off the top of my head which one it is. You can 
use dpkg-checkbuilddeps to have it tell you what it's missing.
