if I have to weigh to build a milling machine or a lathe .... without a
doubt debian is a sufficient SO .... I seem to remember, however, that some
derivatives of linuxcnc were born from the underground waste to make the
system more flexible ... for example some developers know that they work on
development branches which in my opinion would suffer if the only
distribution was debian. Debian on my behalf has a strong limit in the use
of applications with hybrid licenses .... and frankly the stubbornness in
insisting on only and forever and absolutely everything opensources with
the maximum license level such as to make it impossible to use commercially
.... is simply a thing of the past millennium.

However I am not an inuxcnc developer ... so mine is only a shadow of
opinion.

But I suspect that insisting on the path of debian many users will go to
abandon .... due to debian certainly not because of the excellent work of
the linucnc team.

I guess nobody here ignores the work of TheLinuxFoudation and the other
European "linux open associations" ( ;) ) ... I know that many do not
appreciate but I also know that if you close yourself in a hedgehog in
front of the giants, you simply disappear.

Best regards
