While you are troubleshooting, there is something else that might be looked at if you've the time. If I leave a copy running on its own monitor, and come into the house in search of a comfortable chair for my aching back, and try to have it do a restart, which supposedly kills the running copy and starts a new one, with the axis gui on this screen, it does not delay for enough time to be fully cleaned up regarding lock files, so the restart fails. Another 3 or 4 seconds delay in the restart fixes that as it will cleanly restart if the up-arrow,return is immediately used. Just saying.
