Greetings all; In the process of development over the past years, one thing seems to have been removed. That is the ability to link a users configuration back into the gui's such as axis so there is not now a way to link something like a encoder dial back to the axis gui, in such a way as to control the active, last moved axis buttons just as the keyboard now does.
Its all internal to axis now so only a keyboard jog can now update the axis status buttons. These buttons are now linked to the touch-off function controlliing which axis the touch-off is applied to. With the end result being that you find a touch-off point and apply it, then go on to the next axis, find it and apply it, but because these buttons don't follow the jog dials, you just over-wrote the first touch-off, destroying your setup. Very frustrating. Destroys ones train of thought. I have a signal per axis in my hal file, a plus pulse only generated when the dials is active and turned, which would serve to tickle that input that does not now exist, to cause the axis being moved display to follow the dials useage just as if I was using the keyboard. But the dials move the machine and the DRO in real time and are many many times more convenient. Well worth the $20 a dial from MPJA.com unless theyt have sold all of them. Can an "axisui.L.select" IN pin that does update that display be added back to the axisui pin list? That seems like the easiest fix for this dilemma. Those of us that do have dials on our lathes for full manual control, just as if it still had hand cranks, would be most appreciative. Thank you all.
