Greetings;

I've spent a couple days poking around trying to get to where I can home z, but in a couple thou hand move, I get a following error.  And zero help from any of the logs.  How should I proceed?

In trolling thru my .hal file, I had yonks ago made a note to never hook up pid.z.command-deriv so that line was commented out, BUT IT WAS THE ONLY AXIS THAT DIDN'T HAVE IT CONNECTED. Been running that way for several years.

Removing the # in front of it made it work!

was the old pid broken just for z? Call me confused, hooked up, it now homes Z and at first check I think its working.

Now, I should also point out a bug. If it errors during "home_all", and shuts down machine power like I do, a homing operation should be canceled, but it is not. when F2 is used to power the machine back up, the axis that caused the error is skipped, and the next 3 in order will home normally, causing unstoppable machine motions when not expected.

That to me needs fixed, if F2 has been cycled by the error, all homing operations should be canceled until restarting from scratch by another click on the home_all button.

Also, I have retrieved that python script to run the autotune, but I'd sure appreciate instructions as to how to use it...

Thank you.
Take care & stay well all.

Cheers, Gene Heskett.
