Greetings all;

Has anyone written an mdi script to run this autocal pid thing described in the man page?

For some reason I've only been able to make it exersize z but once, not very far, Those findings copied into the ini file result in Z hunting at about 3/4 hz, by about .0004" non-stop.

Thanks all.

Petter has written a Python script you can find here: https://people.skolelinux.org/pere/blog/Automatic_LinuxCNC_servo_PID_tuning_.html

This Hans, seems to lead to a huge list of stuff to dl, but nothing to exec other that what's in the man page.  Was there a script in the midst of that wall of jpeg's that I missed?

And I must have dbl clicked on something, I went back again, found it and saved it to the 2 machines that actually use pid's here. So I apologize for the noise. I should be able to use it, but am in the middle of a 3d printer rebuild. A bigger one, 400 mm square, corexy.

Thank you Hans. Take care & stay well.>
0 Also here some useful information you might already read: http://linuxcnc.org/docs/html/motion/pid-theory.html

And this I've seen many times. But as I wrote in the original post, I was not able to get it to run again after I'd found some setting that ran it about 1 mm up and down. I expected a 1 to be an inch but I guess it was taken as metric.
