Guys,
I have just finalised a PR to update the getting linuxcnc
documentation which Seb said he wanted.
https://github.com/LinuxCNC/linuxcnc/pull/2496

It might be easier to review on my fork
https://github.com/rodw-au/linuxcnc/blob/rodw-getting-linuxcnc/docs/src/getting-started/getting-linuxcnc.adoc#installing-on-raspberry-pi-using-debian-bookworm

We present proven and tested methods to install Linuxcnc from the
Debian Bookworm repositories using the Debian images for both X86 and
Raspberry Pi

This is a pretty massive rewrite because a lot of additional
information is required to optimise the process and incorporate Debian
Bookworm which will be released on 10 June. A lot of old and dare I
say obsolete information has been removed to make room for the new.
Readers are directed to the 2.8 docs for this information. We wanted
to present the simplest methods we could for the user to get a result!

The one thing that is outstanding are links to Linuxcnc built Images.
If these were removed for now (and included once 2.9 is released),
this could be committed to the 2.9 branch now so users have clearly
documented methods to get linuxcnc up and running on modern hardware
that is not supported by Buster.

I await your feedback and review of the Pull request.
