I think it's a bit dated in this day and age. Not to mention 10 year old
Python 2 code in a python3 world and some system constraints re browsers
etc.
I think a better option would be to build out  API endpoints from the
ground up. Use a recognised environment XML, JSON, REST whatever.
Start with every NML message, then extend it to anything not covered that
is in the python library, then review for other features required. Include
appropriate security credentials.
The ultimate goal would be to allow building web based front end and
support data collection etc.

I have thought about this on and off but don't have the skillset.
