You could try this image that contains preempt_rt for the Pi 5  (Linuxcnc
2.9.1)

I don't have a Pi5 to test it but others say it worked.

This is an updated image from our Raspberry Pi 4 one that is built for
the newer Pi 5 CPU
sudo apt upgrade should update to 2.9.2
