Its disappointing to see the release manager stating that Master branch is only
supported on Bookworm. This is not correct.
Master branch compiles and runs quite happily on Trixie. Recent changes to use
the Debian way in master has a made installation of dependencies super simple
so this is even easier.
Its just that we've never supported any automation to build on Trixie. We
should address this given 2.9 is now in Debian Trixie and Testing.
In a recent PR that added Deb Releases to 2.9.x it was stated the PR would be
pushed to Master branch and this has not happened.
It would be great to see this commitment was honoured so users could obtain Deb
files for master from Github.
Many people need to run master to get the latest versions of newer GUI's (eg
QTplasmac and QTdragon)
Many people need to run Trixie for hardware support (and lower kernel latency).
We should not be relying on third party infrastructure (aka buildbot2) to build
debs.
We need to implement GitHub releases.
