We got a statement from the KBA (Kraftfahrtbundesamt) - Notified Body
according Automotive Directive that such equipment -(a car adaptor to allow
users to power their laptops from a car cigarette lighter)- need to have a
E-Mark according 95/54/EC.

 My question is:

Acording to information in ERA´s Safety and EMC newsletter, no.27, additional
equipment can be CE marked following the EMC directive and generic standards
until 1 October 2002. If however Member States have adopted the Automotive EMC
Directive on a mandatory basis in their national legislation they may refuse to
accept products CE marked in accordance with the EMC directive.

Does the standpoint of KBA mean that Germany has adopted the Automotive EMC
Directive on a mandatory basis in it´s legislation and therefore only accept
the "e" mark, and not the CE mark up to Oct. 2002, meaning no transition period
?

Does somebody know of (other) countries where only "e" mark is accepted ?
