Mark,

Please refer to the ENV 50141:1993 - "Forward".  There is a note which states 
the following: " When the corresponding DIS prepared by IEC has successfully 
passed the IEC/CENELEC parallel vote and has been ratified as EN, the present 
ENV will be immediately withdrawn.".  I think this statement answers your 
question.

In addition to Brian's question  - even when these standards are officially
released and listed in the OJ can you use them when testing to generic
standards ??  Since the generic heavy industrial standard references
ENV50140/50141 that surely means that to test to the generic requires
testing to the ENVs ?

Opinions appreciated...
