TOPIC: Potential Interference to Aircraft Electronics from Personal
Electronics Devices
Finbarr O'Connor will provide the presentation at the meeting of the
IEEE EMC Society DC/NoVA Chapter. The subject focuses on the concern
about interference from laptops, CD roms, video games, etc., to
aircraft communication and navigation electronics.
This topic was featured in the August 26 issue of Business Week. Mr.
O'Connor will provide details about this potential problem,
recommendations from the RTCA and what the FAA is doing to
address the problem.
ALSO! Another meeting of the planning committee organizing a one day
EMC Regional Conference will follow the regular meeting. The DC/NoVA
chapter has received a lot of enthusiastic support for this
endeavour. All are welcome!
