EN 61131-2 is the standard for programmable controllers (PLC's) It is named in the OJ as an applicable standard for the EMC directive. The main usage of this standard is for Immunity requirements (ESD, FTB and Radiated Immunity) based on the IEC 800 series of standards. The test requirements are also derived from these standards (IEC 801-2, IEC 802-3, IEC 801-4). However, Emission requirements and tests (Radiated and Conducted) are not dealt with by this standard. Also in view of the changes made between prEN50082 and EN50082 the requirements of this standard are a little on the light side when they are compared.
