Mel, I only have answer to one of your questions.
My copy of IEC 65 is dated 1985 (Fifth Edition). I believe that this is the
latest edition.
I am also looking for the European Norm equivalent to UL1492 Audio and Video
Products. What was your reference where you found that EN60065 was the
equivalent? I would like to look it up.
Will look forward to hearing from others on the other questions.

I now have another related question: I have recently read that the European
Norm for audio/video equipment in Europe is EN 60065.
-Is this based on the IEC 65 document?
-I have an old (1976) version of IEC 65 entitled "Safety Requirements for Mains
Operated Electronic and Related Apparatus for Household and Similar General
Use". What is the latest version (and title) of IEC 65?
-What is the latest version of EN60065?
