I got the following information from http://world.std.com/~inchcape/saso.html
*********************************** The Saudi Arabian Standards Organization (SASO) has announced the commencement of an International Conformity Certification Program (ICCP) and appointed Inchcape Testing Services as worldwide Program Manager. Apparently the SASO ICCP requires a Certificate of Conformity for every shipment of SASO-regulated products destined for Saudi Arabia. This list of products covers a very large range of things - foodstuff, electrical items, etc. Goods arriving in Saudi Arabia without a Certificate of Conformity will be inspected and/or tested by SASO before a Certificate of Conformity is issued, which may result in delays. If the product does not meet the SASO requirements, it will be refused entry and returned to its exporter. SASO has appointed 98 laboratories in 45 countries to test, inspect, and issue Certificates _before_ the products leave their country of origin. ********************* Q1: Anybody got any pointers to more details on this? Q2: Are there any EMC aspects of this Certification? ---------------------------------------------------------------- Alan Hudson EMC/EW Specialist Marconi Simulation (Scotland, UK) email1 [email protected] ----------------------------------------------------------------
