What is the status of Ammendment A12 to EN 61000-3-2. I was verbally
informed by one source that A12 was voted down, and as a result,
powerline harmonic emissions tests are currently required on all devices
drawing less than 16 A per phase to EN 61000-3-2. A second source claims
that A12 has been allowed as a corrigendum and therefore does not need
listing in the
Journal, it inserts a paragraph that changes the date of mandatory
implementation to June 1st 1998 for product which did not come under the
scope of the IEC 555 standard. This clause is already in the Flicker
specification. Which is correct? The 555 standards required testing
primarily on household devices while EN 6000-3-2, without A12, requires
testing of all devices drawing less than 16A per phase with no transition
period. There are many equipments not covered by the old standard that
may or may not need testing.
