I have reviewed various publications and have been unable to locate
information regarding mandatory application of a CE Marking on the
following types of products:
1. Replacement components (SELV boards, power supplies) for repair of
CE Marked end product;
2. Replacement components for non-CE Marked end product (end product
shipped to EU prior to 1/96);
3. "Options" for a CE Marked end product. These options may be SELV
PWB's, PWB w/power supply, etc., intended to be installed in the CE
Marked end product. The CE Marking covers all configurations of end
product, so that the end product may ship with all options installed,
no options installed, or somewhere in between. If a customer
purchases the end product without options installed, they can purchase
and install these options at a later date.
The end product in question is ITE and EMC/LVD Directives apply.
If there is any published material regarding the above products, I
would be most appreciative to know where it is available. Barring
that, hearsay, rumors and innuendo are welcome.
